Mojo’s Pick of the Week: Zepparella

Zepparella – San Francisco’s own all-girl tribute to the mighty Led Zeppelin, comprised of former members of Bottom and A/C-DShe (Clementine on drums, Gretchen Menn on guitar, Nila Minnerok on bass, and fronted by Anna Kristina). What can I say about these incredible women? They are extremely talented, extremely hard working, very cool and quite easy on the eyes to boot. I’ve seen them several times and frankly I think they do Zeppelin better than Zeppelin. Their passion for the songs, their raw talent, and their camaraderie is so infectious that you’ll be smitten as soon as they take the stage. They are rockin Petaluma’s legendary Mystic Theatre this Saturday night with the always-energetic Dave Rude Band. Hope to see you there!

Mojo’s Pick of the Week: Six Weeks Sober

The two fisted punch of Six Weeks Sober is a killer mix of radio-friendly hooks and melodic hard rock. Hailing from San Franicsco, it’s not surprising that their sound is a little Death Angel and a little Papa Roach. They will be playing the Battle of the Bands at the DNA Lounge this Friday September 10, and then will be heading to Nashville to record their debut album with Tesla’s Troy Luccketta! Keep an eye out, cuz Six Weeks Sober may be the next big thing from the Bay Area!

Mojo’s Pick of the Week: Utopian Trap

Fans of classic Dream Theater and Death Angel will dig the sound of local boys Utopian Trap. Rising from the ashes of former project “Fiction”, their big sound gives progressive metal a modern twist while still staying true to the genre. Good stuff guys!
