New Song! Taste Your Love (Wildcat Mix)

Last week I debuted the latest Mojo’s Army track on Soundcloud, a thumpin’ remix of Taste Your Love from the last EP “Summer’s End“. This was a special request for a dear friend of mine, a very talented dancer who needed a new song for an upcoming contest. Since she won her last contest dancing to the demo of Bathtub I was only too happy to put this together for the next one!

New Song! “Lost in the Fog”

Hey rockers! I had a brainstorm for my latest song “Lost in the Fog”. I’ve been thinking of redoing one or more of my older songs in an acoustic style just to mix things up. So when I wrote a new song a few weeks ago, I decided while working on it that I would make two versions to begin with: an acoustic version, which you can hear now, and an electric fuzz version, coming soon!
The original vision of the song was for it to be a Sabbath-style stoner rock fuzz opus, but the acoustic version stands on its own as a trippy meditation in a different head space. This is the first full version, with an improvised solo.
Lost in the Fog is the 6th new song for 2011 from Mojo’s Army, and the year’s not over yet!

Seriously, it’s a complete demo of “No Right”, and you have it as a Soundcloud link:
This is a song I’ve been kicking around for a couple of years, and after recently adding some lyrics to flesh it out and changing up the vocals, I realized that the arrangement wasn’t as much an issue as that I had written a song that I didn’t yet have the vocal chops to pull off. But with some more time and practice under my belt… I think I got it. Hear it for yourself and let me know what you think!
There are a few more waiting in the wings that I wrote a while back but only now have the ability to play and sing, and I can’t wait to get them recorded for you to hear!

She Likes Black
She Likes Black
Finally – the new song! “She Likes Black” is a throwback to a more raw, punky style — fast, catchy, groovy. I was itching to revisit straight ahead raw guitar rock after finishing Summer’s End, and stumbled across a lyric fragment I had written in a notebook a year ago. The rest immediately wrote itself.

This is a rough cut — like the last demo release Bathtub, it’s a raw version that will largely get rerecorded and definitely remixed, but this is how I work – put together the song and get the arrangement set, mix it so it sounds like what I was thinking of, and come back and polish it later when I am in a down-time mode. All that said, it’s pretty f’n rockin!
